If you are considering acquiring your own domain name try to follow these simple guidelines...
Choose a name that is:
- Catchy - Easy to remember
- Easy to spell (Primary school spellings)
- Short as possible (7 letters or less is easier to type)
- Descriptive of purpose or company

Including a key word for Search Engine Optimisation in your domain is not really necessary - Afterall bbc.co.uk and easykey.net get found for particular phrases.
Currently there is no law that prevents you from taking any name .com or .co.uk - Of course this means that anyone else can register a domain you would like.
Tip: Never take any notice of cold telephone calls that ask you whether you want to protect your identity by selling you a domain that is about to be taken by someone else.
