Registering your own Domain Name

Print

It is possible for you to register your own domain name

If you do this properly you will become the legal owner of the name i.e. the Registrant

Let's take thepianoforte.com for example

If you owned thepianoforte.com you could have as many email addresses as you wish at that domain name.
e.g. fred@thepianoforte.com  sales@thepianoforte.com  melody@thepianoforte.com  tuning@thepianoforte.com  etc...

If you wanted to have a website using this domain it would be www.thepianoforte.com

How Long Does a Domain Name Belong to Me?

A domain belongs to you as long as you continue to renew the registration of it.  You will usually receive a renewal notice from company that set it up either on an annual or two-year basis.
