What are Temporary Internet Files?

How to keep your Internet Browser healthy

Each time you look at a websites the files and pictures that are displayed to you are stored on the hard drive of your computer and used the next time you visit that site.

This is so your browser can load the page quicker the next time you visit that page.

Delete your Temporary Internet Files

Eventually your browser can start to run slower as your computer hard disk fills up with lots of temporary Internet Files.  It is good practice to regularly delete these files.  Here's how...

  1. Internet ExplorerIn Internet Explorer, simply go to Tools, then Internet Options (a window will pop up)
  2. Click the Delete button in the middle (another window will popup) - We suggest you tick the following...

  3. Now click the Delete button and wait until it has finished.
  4. When it has finished you can close all the windows

firefoxIf you use Firefox click on Tools then Clear Recent History - From the Time range select Everything
