The Internet Award was one of 12 categories to reflect industry and business at it's best in Hertfordshire.

Here is Denis O'Regan on the night captured with Genie Beanie in one hand and trophy in the other.

Over 50 Genie Beanies were given out promoting online help service Easykey offers at www.askmygenie.com

Bradley Walsh commented with his wry sense of humour "Hmm, Easykey... I wonder how long it took to think that name up?"  Well we can tell you Bradley it took a few months!  Easykey was born out of the mission of trying to keep computing simple.  Early names included "Simple Solutions" which eventually became Easykey (as we liked the musical connotation)

Most of you know about the live online computer help and training we offer via www.AskMyGenie.com by now.

What you may have forgotten is that for each session we donate £1 to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  To date we have raised £210 for this cause.  See www.cftrust.org.uk if you want to know more about the charity and about Cystic Fibrosis.

 

Free Computer Training Completed

Easykey completes third phase of Free Onsite Computer Training


The third project of providing free onsite Computer training for rural businesses in Hertfordshire was completed on target in June 2005.  176 people received a total of 4 hours onsite computer training each.

A new scheme (dubbed AGRE Plus) has already begun offering a further 100 places of free onsite computer training on the 1to1help scheme.  The uptake has been so successful that there are already only 38 places left!

So if you are a business or organisation in rural Hertfordshire (including small Market Towns) remember you can apply online at www.1to1help.com/apply

There has been yet another wave of a domain renewal invoicing scam.

If you have received what appears to be an invoice for a domain name from an organisation called "Domain Registry of America", it is a scam. DO NOT BE DECEIVED.
