Easykey POP Email Settings with BT Broadband Print E-mail

Symptom: You do not use Easykey for broadband and you can receive email but you cannot send it

Inconveniently BT and other broadband suppliers are randomly changing the SMTP (Sending Mail Transfer Protocol) settings for email.

Try the following settings to fix this issue:

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Go to Tools then Accounts
  3. Double Click your easykey email account
  4. Click on Servers Tab
  5. Change SMTP to the same as incoming POP e.g. mail.yourdomain.com
  6. Tick My Server Requires authentication
  7. Click Settings button and ensure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected
  8. Click OK then OK then Close
  9. Close Outlook Express and re-open it to use
