How do I create an email footer in Outlook?
The footer in an email created by Outlook is called a signature.
To create your own signature in Outlook:
Instructions for Outlook XP/2003
- Open Outlook and select Tools / Options
- Click the Mail Format tab
- Click the Signatures button at the bottom
- Click the New... button
- Type a name for you to identify this signature (as you can create more than one which can be handy)
- Click the Next button
- Now type what you wish to display in the signature (see news item called Will your Company website or Email attract a fine? )
- Click Finish button then OK button
- Now ensure that the signature you just created is shown in the Signature for new messages and Signature for replies and forwards
- Finally click the OK button at the foot of the options box
Instructions for Outlook 2010
- Open Outlook and select the File tab then the Options button
- Click the Mail link in the left menu
- Click the Signatures button
- Click the New... button
- Type a name for you to identify this signature (as you can create more than one which can be handy)
- Click the Next button
- Now type what you wish to display in the signature in the white space (see news item called Will your Company website or Email attract a fine? )
- In the right-hand column select the account you wish to use for New Messages and Replies and Forwards
- Finally click the OK button at the foot of the next two windows
